Look for the new Chevy Cruze due out late this summer. It is a larger replacement for the Chevy Cobalt in GM’s compact car lineup. It is a small 4 door sedan with either a 138 hp 4 cylinder or a 140 hp turbo 1.4. Six speed manual or automatic transmissions are available. Owners will see about 40 highway miles per gallon without the hybrid upcharge. The city mileage figures aren’t available yet but they are expected to be enticing to potential buyers who don’t want to pay extra for a hybrid. The price is should come in under $20,000. With Toyota’s newfound vulnerability, this small sedan may be one to watch.
