Muscle Cars – will they ever go away?
Nov 30th, 2009 by gmoran
I’ve got a couple grad degrees but I think that if something crosses my mind, it has either already crossed someone else’s or likely will (I do credit myself with a few original thoughts!). The other day while driving down the road, I found myself following behind a new Chevy Camaro. What a Looker!! It’s so much better in real life than in photos or even stationary on the car lot. It brought back memories of my ’67 royal blue Camaro and made me want to go for the second childhood thing and shop for one. Then I thought of the gas bill and our cloudy energy future. I pulled up to the next stoplight and found myself not only behind the Camaro but next to a restored 60 something Dodge Charger. Once again, the images of yesterday’s muscle cars flashed like video trailers through my mind. Well, I know I’m not the only one who is reluctant to let these glorious machines be replaced on the highway by the bug-like designs of the Prius, et.al. Fuel efficiency we need…a little style wouldn’t hurt!
