Obama vs Nardelli

I guess we know who’s gonna win in the end. Chrysler just unveiled its 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee, touting it as a more fuel efficient SUV. The New York International Auto Show sure got the news out fast. The new model will get 20 mpg in the city, a couple more than the existing Grand Cherokees and will be more powerful with a cleaner, more efficient engine. But the Obama Administration is pushing much more fuel efficiency than a few mpg’s. The Grand Cherokee is a popular car that would do even more serious damage to Chrysler should they ditch it. But right now, Chyrsler’s newest best friend forever needs to be Obama, et. al. If the Fiat deal goes through, they will have plenty of little cars to help Chrysler make nice with Washington. If it doesn’t, the points discussed may all be moot. I have a Grand Cherokee and I love it. I didn’t love it so much at $4 a gallon. I’m hoping that the Fiat deal or something similar comes through. I’d like to keep my Grand Cherokee a while longer.
