Chevy Silverado Hybrid

That’s what I’m talkin’ about! The big worry last year was how could we move big stuff with little gas sipping cars. Well, I’m not sure we’re close to solving that but the Chevy Silverado Hybrid is a sign that at least we’re thinking about it. We’re looking at 20 – 22 mpg for city and road driving. Now that’s significantly better that the regular gas engine with basically the same performance. Remember, this is a full sized commercial truck – we’re a ways away from the 30-40mpg level for these big boys. But the Silverado will only be available right now in a 4 door crew cab with a short cargo box in either 2WD or 4WD. The short bed limits its commercial use…. And a hybrid comes with a hybrid upcharge. Whether this makes sense for your personal or commercial use now may depend on whether you think oil will hang around at $40 or so a barrel for a while. Still, the Chevy Silverado Hybrid is a step in the right direction.
