Chevy is not going down without a fight and not at all according to Rich Wagoner. The beleaguered automaker unveiled 3 new concept cars at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show. The Chevy Spark will be offered for sale in next year. It was unveiled 2 years ago as the Chevy Beat. This is a Mini-Cooper type that seems very suited to narrow alley-way type streets in Europe where it may be a bigger seller that in the US. It’s not really ugly but one should remember that beauty is an opinion (except for a “Vet”… that’s a definite fact!) The Chevy Spark has a 3 cylinder engine that will get 40+ mpg. If you like donuts and have more than a 10 minute commute, this little guy is probably not for you. You’re chiropractor will love you because you’ll have to be a regular customer. But it may help the bottom line at GM and that helps us all. After all, as taxpayers, we will own a ton of GM stock by this time next year.
