Gas by Class, Part 2

Evan Griffy of MSN Autos presented a great feature recently on gas savers and their lifestyle implications. The Honda Fit is another car to send your kid to college with or commute around town. It can be used to haul people and things cheaply. It will run about $14,00 and about $1500 more for the more agile sport model. Like the Toyota Yaris, The Honda Fit has a small 1.5 liter, 109 hp gas engine which is rated at 28 mpg in the city and 34 on the highway. The Fit features great styling and second-row Magic Seat. The idea is that both these cars will get hybrid-like mileage without the hybrid up charge. The Toyota Yaris and The Honda Fit are small but functional for specific purposes. They won’t take the place of a mid-sized SUV or full size car but if gas does not go back to being cheap, maximizing fuel resources will involve prioritizing functions. Next: A few more to consider
