Tech Race - Part 2

McCain must have read yesterday’s blog “Auto Tech Race” Our GOP Presidential wannabe proposed a $300 million cash award, funded by you and me, “for the development of a battery package that has the size, capacity, cost and power to leap frog the commercially available plug-in hybrids or electric cars”. This is as reported by Daniel Shepardson, Detroit News Washington Bureau. Speaking at Fresno State University, McCain also called for a $5,000 tax credit for zero emission vehicles running on alternative fuels. Tech wise, an overwhelming winner in the battery tech race isn’t visible. GM is set to mass produce the Chevrolet Volt by late 2010. Toyota and Nissan are also targeting plug-ins for in 2010. First thing McCain has to do is figure out how to convince America that they shouldn’t vote Democrat this fall!
